The Center for the Physics of Living Cells (CPLC) sponsored a recent visit of
The BioBus to Champaign-Urbana from October 7-10, 2010.
The BioBus (http://biobus.org/) founded by Dr. Ben Dubin-Thaler, an Urbana native, is a mobile cellular
laboratory whose goal is to have PhD-level scientists
guide students in exploring the biological world using research-grade microscopes. The CPLC sponsored the BioBus visit to Leal Elementary School in Urbana
as well as its trip to the Orpheum Children's Science Museum in Champaign. Furthermore, four of our Center graduate students, Mike Brenner,
Patrick Mears, Sinan Arslan, and Marco Tjioe also taught on the bus at both locations.
