CPLC Faculty Sua Myong receives NIH New Innovator Award

Sua Myong, Assistant Professor of Bioengineering and CPLC Faculty member, was recently awarded an NIH New Innovator Award. In receiving this award, she was among 81 researchers being funded thru the High Risk High Reward program supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund. This program funds innovative and visionary science with the potential to produce transformative results in areas of health research. Myong’s research focuses on detection of nucleic acid and protein biomolecules with single-molecule precision. Myong will apply the NIH New Innovator Award towards the development of novel single-molecule platforms to allow quantitative and stepwise analysis of the RNA Interference (RNAi) silencing pathway with the goal of creating new methods to assess and predict siRNA efficacy.
