Yanxin Liu, a graduate student of CPLC co-Director, Klaus Schulten, has been granted a "2012 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad" by the China Scholarship Council. According to the  award letter,  "This award was founded by the Chinese government in 2003 with the purpose of rewarding the academic excellence of self-financed Chinese students studying overseas. Only those with outstanding performance in their PhD studies will be considered by the award selection panel and no more than 500 young talents will be granted the award each year all over the world."Yanxin’s research focuses on  protein folding, molecular motor proteins, and structure modeling through molecular dynamics flexible fitting. Yanxin previously won  the Student Research Achievement Award from Biophysical Society in 2012, and the Chemical Computing Group Excellence Award from American Chemical Society in 2013.
