Wesleyan is seeking to hire a tenure track Assistant Professor, where the field of research is broadly defined, but the teaching strengths must be in fundamental and advanced biochemistry.  The following is a link to the university web posting (https://careers.wesleyan.edu/postings/6898).

Wesleyan is currently seeking outstanding candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our goals of diversity and inclusion in higher education.  We occupy a distinctive niche between larger research universities and smaller teaching colleges.  The university is located on a 120-acre campus in Middletown, Connecticut, midway between Boston and New York, and enjoys a number of collaborations with nearby institutions. Wesleyan’s science departments are cooperative, we have a robust faculty and thriving graduate program that encourages interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our standard teaching load is 1 undergraduate or graduate course per semester, and participation in our departmental Ph.D. program.

Additional duties include advising and mentoring students, as well as participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level.  Wesleyan offers highly competitive start-up funds and research space.  In addition, we offer many attractive benefits not commonly found at other institutions of higher learning. We are particularly interested in recruiting talented candidates who are women or members of underrepresented groups in science (African Americans, Latin Americans or Hispanics, and Native Americans), as well as candidates with disabilities.
