Scholar Communicator Program

This program builds on the previous "CPLC Teaching Fellow" program, offering a wider variety of experiences that can be tailored to the unique skills and interests, as well as time constraints of the students and their advisor(s). The Center will begin soliciting applications this summer and will select two students, one Scholar-Communicator Trainee and one Scholar-Communicator Fellow to begin in the Fall of 2018. Together, with the Associate Director for Education and Inclusivity, the CPLC Scholar-Communicators will develop and disseminate innovative projects that align with the theme of "Communicating Science in a Diverse and Connected World". This may involve a wide range of different types of projects, meant to engage unique audiences, such as medical professionals or policy makers. The Scholar Communicators will also make use of innovative means of communication, leveraging existing resources available through the top-ranked UIUC School of Communications, the Urbana node of NCSA, and our Center for the Innovation of Teaching and Learning (CITL), and the UIUC Physics Department's internationally revered Physics Education Research Group.
