Kiran Girdhar and Boon Chong Goh hosted another successful CPLC/Biophysics Graduate Student/Postdoc Spring Symposium under direction of Dr. Martin Gruebele.  The Center's goal for this event is to provide a venue for CPLC and Biophysic's scientists to present their research to their peers and mentors.  Over seventy Center for the Physics of Living Cells and Biophysics graduate students and postdocs participated in the event.

The sponsor provided two travel award raffles.  The first winner was Yupeng "Peggy" Qiu.  Peggy is a Bionengineering graduate student in Dr. Sua Myong's lab.  The second winner, Mehdi Roein Peikar, is a Physics graduate student working in Dr. Taekjip's lab.  Congratulations to them both.

A third award was presented to the overall best talk of the day, which is voted on by the students and faculty in attendance. This award was won by postdoc Isaac Li, for his presentation on "Single molecule mechano-memory".   Isaac Li conducts research under the guidance of Dr. Yann Chemla.

Please be sure to congratulate Isaac and prepare your presentations for the Fall 2014 CPLC/Biophysics Symposium!
