Summer Teacher Program

Physics of Life Experience (POLE) for Teachers

2019 summer teacher workshop

The CPLC will host an 5-day workshop for high school science teachers from July 15th-19th, 2019. Our goal is to provide an environment for local high school science teachers to learn about the latest research within the CPLC, network with fellow teachers, and work together with graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and CPLC Young Scholars (high school student researchers) to develop lessons that are applicable to their classrooms.

All participants will receive amenities including a stipend, CPDUs, mileage reimbursment, and meals for participation in this workshop series. The CPLC will also provide funds for classroom materials, and help from our researchers to support lesson implementation in the classroom. Additional funds are available to support communication of lessons developed during this program at national or regional meetings (e.g. ISTA, NSTA, AAPT, or others).
